(California) Sober October

by Andrew Zimmerman

Hey Hey!!

As we slip into full-on Fall mode, it also means the ushering in of a somewhat new and pretty rad annual social event called “Sober October”

If you aren’t familiar with Sober October, I’ll give you a brief background of what it is.

Ahem: you stay sober the month of October.  More specifically, it seems this idea is most often connected with cutting out Alcohol.

As my Co-Founder Colin and I can attest, Wisconsin is THE alcohol consumption capital of the United States.  It’s not just the overall volume that’s consumed, it’s that alcohol is engrained into every aspect of Wisconsins culture. Which brings a completely different  level of consumption acceptance. So when kick-ass things like Sober October continue to pick up popularity in WI, we can’t help but share our excitement. It tells us folks are becoming more aware of the health consequences of regular alcohol consumption and are making a conscious effort to reduce alcohol use. It’s also telling us that people are looking for other ways to relax or socialize or find other healthy alternatives.

So, if you’ve read this far, you’re probably asking yourself: “Zim - why promote Sober October when cannabis is a key part of your product and may cause your body to feel… not sober?”

Fair question. Cannabis can and typically does produce feelings of euphoria, relaxation and bursts of creativity (among other fun things). But the real reason? Alcohol, even in moderation, is more harmful to your health than cannabis.

Sure, cannabis products like Mods may not qualify you as “sober” for the month of Sober October. But cannabis is still a better choice for your health than Alcohol. So hows about we just roll with it call it “California Sober October” - I.e. alcohol-free, cannabis/plant medicine friendly (shout out to Billy Strings and Willie Nelson😎)Cool? Cool.

So if you’re in the midst of your Sober October challenge and are looking for some ways to push through an alcohol-free October, we can help!

Mods gummies are formulated with a low dose of Delta 9 THC - so if you’re new or inexperienced in consuming cannabis edibles or using Cannabis as an alternative to alcohol, Mods gives you the opportunity to control your cannabis experience.  So you can feel comfortable and confident when consuming Mods as part of your California Sober October, and beyond.

For more information on Mods, make sure to check out our product page and COA.
